Thank you for your input on this topic. I had originally sent this coin off to PCGS to be graded as that is the most respected coin grading company in the US. They sent this coin back graded and certified but I was disappointed to find out that they could not type the coin and confirm it was an obverse #3. I posted in this forum looking for help as well as calling around to some of the more respected coin shops in the states looking for guidance on how to proceed with this item. I contacted ICCS by phone and and the grader I spoke to offered to type it right then instead of having me send it in as we were a little hesitant sending it internationally if it wasn't needed. I sent him all the HD photos I had of it and he reviewed it with me over the phone. He confirmed it was an obverse #3 and also informed me that, by their grading standards, it would not have been graded quite as high as PCGS had graded it, but said it was still in very good condition. I have since receivedan offer of about $1100 if I wanted to sell it. I thought I would let it sit on ebay for a while and see if it would sell there for a little more. What would you all feel would be a reasonable asking price for this coin?

The coin is not EF45 by Canadian standards. PCGS always overgrades EF Canadian coins. You price is full retail for the VF30 coin that it is. Since you do not offer shipping to Canada your coin does not appear on ebay for Canadian buyers, you're missing out on most of your market for this coin.

I am not sure why that is, it is available for the global shipping program. I have sold and shipped many coins and silver bars to hong kong this past month alone. I relisted the item so it has a new item id, maybe you are clicking on a dead link from earlier. Here is the new listing and item number. Item # 222424118302 http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-1892-C...STRK:MESE:IT

I don't know what you are doing wrong in your settings, but it does not appear on ebay Canada. It appears if I log on to ebay dot com but not the default ebay Canada. There is no mention of global shipping.

I just updated the site preferences to be sure that it was eligible for Canada. The global shipping program doesn't include Canada and Mexico in their program. So I changed the setting to include all of North and Central America in my listings. I appreciate you bringing this to my attention. Until now I was under the impression that participating in the Global Shipping Program on ebay included all countries they ship to. I have remedied this error. What would you feel is a fair asking price for a coin in this condition? I have it priced high at the moment but am accepting offers in an attempt to try and gauge a reasonable price.

Yes it now appears on ebay Canada. Gotta love ebay's Global Shipping Program. For your item it comes to a mere $196 Canadian.

Just to let you know the global shipping program is horrible for Canada. For your coin in particular it would make us pay about $143USD just for shipping and import charges. One of the reasons I never buy from any US sellers using the Global Shipping Program. If you simply used USPS it would be a fraction of the cost and you would get more potential buyers.

I do ship USPS first class....is there another form of usps shipping that is better? I also have listed this item as free shipping, so I am unclear why it is showing there would be any shipping charge as I have agreed to pay for shipping.

Your efforts to accommodate the online Canadian numismatic market are to be commended... I wish it would become contagious... I have been ignored or even berated by some US ebay dealers and sellers, who simply "cannot be bothered to ship to Canada" - even though they are listing Canadian coins. Some ebay sellers have even turned off their options to contact them or ask questions... (having connections and friends in the US does help here...)
