Question...
When buying Silver Proof sets, are the President's
also in silver? or just the 5c, 10c, 25c, & ˝'s
This has been confusing me.

Mila,
the only silver in the silver proof sets are the original 90% silver coins- dime, quarters, and half dollar. It was originally proposed in 2006 to mint the Pres proofs in silver for the set but it was never approved.

If I have any like that.......it'll be awhile before I look to find out.....Don't want to make a special trip to the other side of town and get in the bank vault for that......
Any idea on the number that got released like that ?........Not sure if I feel lucky that it'd be me to have one anyway......that's always someone else who finds an error coin!...
I know...I know.....you can't win if you don't play.....err...wait...that's the lottery.......Oh!!....same thing here though!...

The value on those could continue to grow through the life of the Presidential dollar Program and beyond......I would certainly keep it regardless of whether you "crack it" or not !...

Great Amac44 ! I did not find any at the shop today. Just over 100 sets, nothing unusual. I would definitely keep the set intact, as far as value, that could go either way in the long run. If there turns out to be alot of them, it could drop off alot fairly quickly (Washington plain edge and Adams double edge come to mind ) or.....There could turn out to be very few and the value would rise...until interest wanes....Tough call. Personally I would keep it, you don't often get that much value for your money. Now if I had two...One would be on its way to PCGS as we speak... Strike while the irons hot !
