Nice finds, agree pretty much with your assessments but #7 is questionable.

I am seeing now .. I should have posted this in the modern error section ... I understand your thinking on #7 BadThad. It is hard for me to imagine how this could have happened. I wish I had kept the 2X2, it had something this .. from same collection. Of course that doesn't mean much. I guess if it is not a known error .. than it could be PSD.

#7 is an indent strike, caused by the overlap of another planchet in the coining chamber at the time of striking. The mate would be a 90% OC obverse with a uniface reverse.

Thanks biokemist6 ... #7 I got to thinking .. because of no damage to the reverse I started thinking, what ever happened to the obverse must have happened in the die during strike. I started thinking strike through .. your idea sounds more like what happened. But ... if another coin was there wouldn't that area be more flat? I can see where there is still rim on the affected area. But the shape is more coin like. I was trying to take better pictures while you were posting.

It is amazing what a nights sleep .. a good cup of coffee and a lighted 7X glass will do for me. I should not have doubted the experts ... It does look like a indent strike. Holding another cent up to it really helps too.

For #7 ...
I do want to say, I was looking more at my pictures than the coin. The lighting/shadows made me think I was seeing something different than when I look at the coin. When I look at the coin, I see the indent strike error that was suggested I check out.
Now that I know what I am looking at .. I can see it in the pictures too.
For me .. another good CCF lesson
