Don't acids you use to raise the date degrade the coin? You have a coin with a faint date that is really crusty and distorted using acids IMO. You still have the date, however, and if it a rare coins then it must be worth the effort. What is a coin like you showed with an acid raised date worth?

Well, first off, I only acid treat NO date nickels! (Sorry for yelling had to make my point). The coin I posted is probably worth $250. My first one is probably $350, because how bold it is.

Wow, if you are making that kind of money using acid or LSD who cares. You are doing something right! Man, if you could raise dates on LSQ's and could find one 1916 you would be in the money. I have a set of LSQ's including a 1923-S in EF condition and even the EF coins have weak dates. They all do before 1925. I don't have a 1916 because I don't want to spend $8000 to get a good one.

Sorry, the picture isn't coming up clearly.

The main way I tell, is that the 1916 has worn off rivets on the shield when they are dateless.
