WOW, thanks NSS for sharing. I have an 1855/54 that is NGC graded at AU53. The coin looks to be a VF35 and not a AU53 (I am not complaining). Here is a picture of it, what do you think?  |

I think the half dollar graded above is pretty close to what I'd grade it. Lots of shield line/hair/dress detail and sharp Liberty. Definitely not VF for me.

Tart up the ebay presentation, and transfer photoshop the grading numbers from slab to slab. Works a treat for those who wish to be deceived. |

I think this is disgusting, the obvious paint-cropping makes me cringe. Maybe if we all report the seller, something might be done. It's deception like this that makes buyers weary of committing themselves to buying coins from ebay. Oh well, it can't be stopped, best just to report it every time its spotted. |

The listing for the coin photo edited into the MS-61 slab has been removed.
The listing for the same coin being sold at VF-30 is still active.
