Thanks coop. Apparently I was looking at a different year last night when looking it up. You are correct there are no pictures that I can find for this year. I have emailed Dr. Wiles as chuckster suggested. Should I email Wexler as well?

Mont: Info on DR James Wiles. http://varietyvista.com/About%20the%20Author.htmDR. Wiles is the go to guy for anything I want verified/attributed etc before submission to a TPG. #1(IMHO!) (MR. Wexler is also fine to contact, as you can't go wrong with either gentlemen.) Just a matter of preference on my part.

Update: Over the weekend I sent photos of this coin to Dr. Wiles and John Wexler. Mr. Wexler replied this morning. He says he has no listings for a 1974-D DDO. He also says this coin looks to definitely be a DDO and has given me info on how to send it to him for attribution. I Plan on sending it out later this week.

Cool. Get him listed. Fyi, DD Ikes are very, very common it's just that nobody bothers getting them listed usually unless the spread is severe. It should be listed my JW though

I have found several unlisted ones in my searches. This is the 1st one that looked severe enough to bother trying to list it.

Update: I jsut received an email from Mr. Wexler. It is good news! A New DDO! Here is part of the email. Quote:I have processed the coin that you submitted for attribution in a package postmarked May 17, 2017. The 1974-D Ike dollar is 1974-D $1 WDDR-002 which is a new listing for my files. Congratulations on the new listing. It will be illustrated on the appropriate page of my website the next time that I update the site. I also plan to use it in my Varieties Notebook column in Coin World. It is scheduled to be in the August 21, 2017 installment of that column. Woohoo!! My 1st new Listing for Ikes.

Thanks John1.
The only problem now is that the doubling is on the obverse not the reverse. Making this one a WDDO not a WDDR. I have emailed Mr.Wexler to correct this.

Got listed today!! Wexlers now has 2 listings for 1974-D Eisenhower DDOs. Here is a link. WDDO-002 is the one I just sent in. http://doubleddie.com/2306337.html Not sure weather or not I should send it in to ANACS next. I know the DDO isn't worth much and the coin is MS63 at best, but wondering if it would be worth slabbing due to this being the discovery coin. What do you think?
