I'd pay that just to show people. And NGC thinks they're the top dogs!

Don't those two scrapes loook a lot like cleaning attempts?
Details!

Well, truth be told, I'm the sucker that paid the $30 + fees ($34.50 total), out of curiosity. When I get it, I'll post more pics. I'm actually hoping that it's an interestingly toned coin, and that the lighting for the auction photoshoot wasn't complimentary. We'll see. If nothing else, I own a weird looking 1957 MS-65 FH!

Well, do keep us up to date! This confounds me, but I'm ready to learn.

It arrived, and it's just as ugly in person!

Nope, just a muddy ugly coin with great detail.

I'll try and get a pic up either tonight or tomorrow.

Yeah please post images!! Are the "scratches" just breaks in the toning? Imagine how beautifully toned that coin could've been if it hadn't kept toning!!

I guess if I hold up to the light at a certain angle, and use some imagination, I see some blue, and maybe a hint of yellow/gold, and maybe some reddish hue, but it really just looks a brownish grey.

But on the good side, under my loupe it's pretty close to flawless (any scratches are on the slab, bot the coin, except for the toning). I wonder if maybe it got hit a point (or two) due to the lack of eye appeal?

Don't understand how this got a straight grade.

I see a beauty underneath ugliness. I just love halves.
