I got this coin in today and the color was off in the auction but otherwise I like it. Do you all think it may benefit from an acetone bath to remove some of the red?

Sorry but I don't think Acetone would do anything to this Nickel . Most all nickels are susceptible to environmental
damage . This is the case here .
