Good eye ElonU! if you'll pardon the pun. I think you are correct!
That does need a closer look. The heck with the laminations.
The eye, if right, makes this a thirty dollar give or take coin!

Interesting that the Lam goes completely through the Planchet. That indicates an air bubble almost formed what is called "Blowout", a complete hole through the coin as PSD. Nice find with an error too!

There are 2 places my eyes always go on the '43-P nickels. The 3 in the date and the bridge of the nose :)

Sometimes you get lucky and find the over date ('43/2) or apparently in this case the doubled eye!! Keep this one newbie!!

I don't know what to say, I just edited my post about thinking it was not a doubled eye and now I have my doubts again.
I look at the 4 points where the top and bottom eyelid would be and yours does have similar points.

Ok....I was at about 90% after looking at the initial post, but now I am at about 50/50. Tough to tell because of the wear.

LOL! I'm just trying to make easy on y'all! Seriously though. I can't tell. To me I would say it is not, But I'd still like to hear from those more experienced on this coin. Not that I'm digging on you nickelguy. I know you know your stuff. I just meant. More thoughts,as in 3,4,5,6 people giving their thoughts.

I forgot to mention that the 43 doubled eye I looked up also had letter doubling. That is the reason for the close ups of the date. The red arrow is the "only" evidence I could find of doubling.

I can't tell either, I am at 55% no and 45% maybe but it sure is odd. I don't know of any other markers and even if there were, they might be worn off both of our nickels. Wishing you the best.
