The bidder with a feedback of 139 has strange bidding tactics.

Hard to give a opinion without the coins being in hand ... or very
good pictures..

I do see a hint of a thumb print on the coin in the third link. In the 7 to 8
o'clock area on the obverse.
Rest in Peace

I'll postpone comment until the coins are in hand and new (consistent) pics are posted.

Same here...

Not strange at all when you look at this bidder's history - 97% with the same (this)seller.

Second one: cleaned/dipped. I think I can see hairlines, plus there are the tell-tale halos around the devices.

Third one: No way that is an MS-64. MS-62 at best.

You made a gutsy move on the 79-O being removed from holder.I too would like to withhold comments till you receive the coin. But overall you made good pick ups.

Agree with TypeCoin. Taken as a whole, this doesn't seem like that great a deal to me.

The 1887 DPL Dollar came. It is absolutely gorgeous. The other 2 are coming tomorrow. I'll take better pics later.

Well, what a disaster. The 1887 is gorgeous. The first 1879 O is nice, but probably only MS 63. I'll probably keep that one, as the dealer was not too out of line on that one. Yes, there was a fingerprint on it, but it came off easily. The second 1879 O is AU 58 Dets, Cleaned. I will have to be more careful next time.

Actually, the first one may make 64. I just looked up MS 64 1879 O Morgans on ebay, and one PCGS example makes Lady Liberty look like she has been in a knife fight.

I call it a win.

I'm also not sure that the 1887 would be considered DPL today either. Standards have changed, generally you want to stick to newer generation holders for DMPL morgans.

The 1879-O Morgan is not a rare coin in MS64; PCGS has graded almost 2,300 of them. If you want this date to be rare, get it in MS66.

Well, yeah. Here's a PCGS MS-65 that sold for over $2,100:

It's not really a matter of what one wants. It's a matter of what one can afford. We're talking a difference between a few hundred bucks and a few thousand.

And MS-66 examples regularly sell for $15,000+
