E&V....its not passing the smell test to me. Look at the peeled back area on IGWT, there's lumps on the zinc. This may have been a zinc zit that seller flipped over them self. Same with the larger area. Notice left side, is indented, looks to me like some instrument used to pry it up.

Since this is one of the more obscure errors none of us has ever seen, I question it beind a genuine mint produced error coin. Thinking manipulated PMD, its too risky to buy, $1 max for me.

I see your point. The detail on his bottom of his hair on his head is still strong and it's looks like it's been peeled up with something hard. I agree with you completely. Too risky to buy.

It may be very well just PMD and not a real Mint error at all. I even question it to myself that if it is real or not.

The buyer may or may not have peeled it wider themselves, but there's no way they created the initial lamination without physically damaging the surrounding area of the coin. The top right anomaly is clearly plating separation, but copper is visible under the missing tip of the lamination at the back of the head.

Interesting coin, but only about $5 worth of interesting to me. I'd have to hermetically seal it to keep it from corroding away, now that the zinc is exposed.

Off topic, but I'm not sure what happen to all of my posts. I was at 906 or something like that of posts and now I'm only at 866 post. A glitch maybe?

It's not a glitch. You may want to create a topic about it in the CCF Support forum.

Images aren't good enough to be sure but I think it looks like it COULD be a legitimate lamination error. No way to know for sure without either much better images or seeing the coin in hand.

Conder101, I'll let the bidder have it. I'm not taking a risk on it. I'm not going to even place a bid on it.

So where is the copper coating on it? All images look silver (Zinc Colored) as if it is missing the copper plating.

Good point CoinCents Lady. To me it looks very fishy to me. The auction ended little over a hour ago. It sold for 3.25. Fuzzy, No explain is needed now. Fuzzy, I'm trying to get to 900 post because yesterday, my post count dropped down to 40 and I wasn't happy about it.

Padding your post count is looked down upon.

Alright. Thank you for the answer. I should be more careful next time so it doesn't happen again. :)
