Sorry @echizento, the only thing I have is the SB number. It is 478. I will know much more once I measure it and weigh it. Unfortunately this information was not included in the listing.

Lovely coin, Andrew. Congrats on the auction win! I need to confirm this with Frank, but based upon the results list it looks like I snagged a late Parthian tet (lot 124) in the auction...definitely a modest coin, with some flaws, but I'll be happy to own it, and at a very good price. I have no Byzantines to add to this thread, unfortunately. My only-ever Byzantine, a Justinian follis, was gifted to the son of a friend years ago.

Super coin! I briefly owned a Maurice half-follis. Sold it a few months ago in a mass purge of lot bycatch.

Well since you said "Any Byzantine coins at all" I will post one from a bit later on a Leo the Wise coin, my other two Byzantines were posted on the walking back thread... I am not sure that that patina is natural, it was only after buying this that I became aware that some sellers apply things to make the coin contrast. In truth I prefer the kind of greenish finish of Ron's which my Justin and Sophie follis shares.

Justin II Gold Solidus - 4.41g, 20mm Justin II (Latin: Flavius Iustinus Iunior Augustus); c. 520 - 5 October 578) was Eastern Roman Emperor from 565 to 574. He was the husband of Sophia, nephew of Justinian I and the Empress Theodora, and was therefore a member of the Justinian Dynasty. His reign is marked by war with the Sassanid Empire and the loss of the greater part of Italy. He presented the Cross of Justin II to Saint Peter's, Rome. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justin_II

The coin arrived today. It is in much better condition than the photo suggests.
