Thank you. I think I have searched over 1000 pennies in the last two weeks, I'm beginning to see Lincoln's in my sleep.

I hear ya, I usually mix some nickel rolls in when cent roll searching just to break up the monotony. Keep up the searching - hope you find one!!

I posted one exactly like that a while back and was hammered by use guys for NOT having a floating roof because of that small nub extending down on right. So what is it, yea, or nay? I've tossed many of these away!

This one looks separated enough to warrant a floater. Congratulations.

Then especially check the 1969-D cents as they are more prone to have the floating roofs than other dates. I've found 4 on 69-D's in the last 2 1/2 weeks.

I would definitely say that coin is a floating roof. But for the purists out there yes, you can find them with absolutely no trace of the supports and with crisp corners. This one is also a 1970-S.

Point to ponder:

1) These floaters seem to appear on the 69 and 70 dated cents quite frequently at all mints. That points to this being a common Master Die problem where those "indentions" were much shallower than on other dies of other years, so that when the die face was polished, it took very little to wear down through those marks, making the floater.

2)The dies were modified in those years to correct the obverse problem of the devices being too close to the rim(1968), anyone known if this is also a result of die modifications that was repaired in 71 or 72?

I was looking for more info on the solo FLOATING ROOF, since my FGs are missing (almost) but have remnants while my roof lines seem to be missing... My '69 is only a partial float since I see a remnant of the line on the west side...

Ist 2 are my 1970's, last image is my '69.

What a great find. Great looking Coin too! I just found one that is on a beat up 1970s Large - and this helped me confirm what I had. Thank you all for the posts and The one I have has EXTREME Strike Doubling so I worry that it was just from Die Deterioration.
