CC...I just looked at your post and you had stated been going through the box finding "nothing but wheat cents and rather minor error coins - per the usual". I was wondering what you look for (as far as variety's) when going through a box. I am new at this and would like to pull out anything others may have an interest in. It not only would help me learn more about the coins I'm going through, but might start a collection for me. Worst case I could always trade or sell them if I did not end up keeping them for myself. Hopefully you could post a list of the things you try to look for when going through a box. I assume you don't look for all of the hundreds (and probably thousands) or minor errors & variations. If anyone else hunts cents, I would love to heat the same from all of you. Thanks for your continued help.

Well, I actually just look at dates to see if doubling is evident and for other minor error coins. I have done years of research into the Lincoln Cent series and it took my a year and a half to get a good grip on it. Look at doubleddie.com and study the varieties; pay specific attention to the different types of doubled dies and how they effect the coin. Also look at the worthless doubling section. I'm actually compiling what I consider a "master list" of significant errors for myself that I might be able to post somewhere on here in the future.

Cool...ty for the reply. Right now I got the newbie bug. Almost 24x7 YouTube videos, CCF board, various info sites like doubleddie.com, & ebay (to watch actual sales of actual coins). I do look at the various variety's, it is just hard to tell the difference between some of them at my stage in the game. I will check the worthless doubling section as I don't remember looking in there. I do appreciate the help. ThankYouVeryMuch (in my best Latka voice if your old enough to remember Taxi).

ANACS graded this as an AU58... I thought it would be graded higher. Thoughts?

Really great find I've been searching now for about 7 months I just started I too have been using the YouTube videos 24/7 and going to all the other websites and I still haven't gone through 80% of all these coins I have from Seven boxes I have about a hundred errors in two by twos and last night I got my 72 obverse which is a 1do-004 according to copper coins.

Excellent find! That's a very hard one to get a hold of. Finding it in circulated bankrolls is very impressive! Still though, AU58 is pretty darn good for the grade. That means that it only had a little bit of circulation wear on it, but just a tad bit. Still very nice coin overall!
Errers and Varietys.
