Don't look at a lot of these in higher grades but based on wear on the obverse I would say x-45-au-50. NO comment on cleaning.

i have it at AU53 also and I think it may have been cleaned. the overall look of the coin is flat especially the field on the obverse. I think it was dipped a while ago. it may grade straight though

Trying to image coins as they appear in hand. Proving tougher than I thought. This Barber half has a tangerine orange toning that is tough to capture in pictures. It is really beautiful. I think I captured it slightly but it is prettier in hand. In different lighting:

New pics are certainly not helping your case! I'm down to EF details as well, and assuming these pics are the most accurate, I think you overpaid, to be honest.

I hear what you are saying and I understand. I have the coin in hand and the surfaces look like the earlier pictures. I had to use a direct harsh light that washes out the surfaces to capture the color which is a beautiful frosty tangerine orange. I am sure it will straight grade.

I'd recommend using a clear lightbult as opposed to a non transparent one, works best for Me.
