Okay boys, here are the sharper pictures! I bought this coin in france for 80 Euro over the melt value including the shipment fee. I was hoping for a MS 64 and expecting at least a MS 62. I think this was a good buy. How do you feel about this coin now? Greetings from Germany Alex

I like the blurry obv picture better  Looks like she took a hit to the shin (and knee). Otherwise, very nice gold piece!!

The new pics put it on the 64/65 line. It's at least a 64.

Yup. Those fields are better than what I see on 65s. So close to gem but for that knee hit and some coin scrapes on liberty. 64+ and would probably CAC imho.

This date has been selling for $1400-1500 in recent Heritage auctions in MS-64 grade. If it achieves an MS-64+ grade the typical price jumps a couple hundred dollars. Expect a price closer to $3000 if it were to grade MS-65.
The 1922 isn't the most common St. Gaudens date but the population of MS-64 examples is well over 8000 pieces. So, it's easy to find. In any case you got a good deal.

Is the HA example overgradet? In german community there are rumors that ha owns parts of NGC. Is that right?

If you register for a free Heritage account you can view prices realized from previous auctions; it's a great resource for learning the actual sale prices for specific coins. I don't think the example you linked is obviously overgraded. Keep in mind there is a lot of variation between coins at a given grade. Your coin appears to be nicer than the NGC coin but that's no guarantee it would grade higher. I have no information regarding the relationship between HA and NGC. Heritage does offer a service for sellers to get raw coins graded for placement in auctions. I think a seller can specify which grading service they want in that case.
