I'm sorry as I stated before sellers pics I guess I'll have to take a chance and get it to really find out just trying to see if it would be worth getting but I guess I'll risk it
I think dime area is 2x2 scratch maybe lol and I thought strike looked weak too

I wouldn't gamble too much on it considering a proof set is easy to buy very reasonably priced. Hit any coin show and you will likely have plenty to choose from.

Right, you can get the whole OGP set for around $20. Then you get the cent, nickel, silver quarter & silver half too!

Ok just got it in the mail opinions now it is also a doubled die reverse. My camera for some reason put a tan line down the picture hope my camera on my phone isn't going out thanks   I'm not even close to being able to grade my coins but I think it's higher then a pf67 atleast Edited by Mrzllewellyn

First, I am assuming that your pics are accurately representative of the coin. Depending on photography, proofs can appear much better than they actually are. Doing some comparison with PCGS graded coins, I feel comfortable with it being PF-68. I do see the potential for a 68+ or even 69. I don't think it would make PF-70. The scale is supposed to be equivalent across business strikes and proofs but, I don't really see how that works in practice and my proof grading experience is very limited. The strength of strike should not affect the grade. Either way, it would have to grade PF-70 to make it worth submitting. If you don't mind, how much did you pay for it? Do you want a CAM or DCAM because this coin doesn't look like either. It might make 69 but the strike does look a touch weak on the high points.

I paid 6.50 for it and yes it's a doubled die reverse and yes the coin looks better in hand then in my pics to be honest

It is just a proof no cam or dcam I believe I just got it because it looked pretty decent grade and it was a doubled die eventually I will have the money and get some cams and dcams to build up my collection

I wouldn't worry too much about CAM and DCAM, if you go further back, those proofs get uber expensive! I believe the term would be a "Brilliant Proof" if it has no cameo. For $6.50, I think you did well. If it were a normal PF68-69 (slabbed) coin, it's probably worth $15-$25. I really have no basis to say what a DDR in the same grade would go for or what the market may be.  Like errors, sometimes all you can do is put it out there to see what the market determines but, I don't know if you intend on selling it or not. In Memory of Crazyb0 12-26-1951 to 7-27-2020

Don't plan on selling it right now I don't know what the market is for it either I might try and get it slabbed when I have the funds even if it is more money then it might be worth I think it would be cool anyways but then again it might be worth it I don't know

I'm not really into proof coins but I would think that a PF-68 or 69 would be a FT or FB . |

Woops changed stabbed to slabbed lol that's funny I don't know TBOP I'm still trying to get my grading down I can't grade a business strike yet but proofs are harder I think anyways

68 possible 69. I'm unfamiliar with this DDR so I don't know potential value for that. You did just fine for the price, but I'd recommend buying proof sets at LCS and shows. You only have to get one super coin for a nice hit. |
