Quote: I don't have the 1922 No D yet. It and the 1914-D and SVDB are the last 3. Of course. Maybe just get a very "light" D for that space and a 1914-D is affordable but the 09-S VDB is the toughie.

Looks way better than VG to me. VF25 and maybe a touch better than that. I would try to get the verdigris off it.

All three of the LWC's I posted have already been treated with Verdi-Care soaks before the photos were taken. I might have to go back and do some fine work with a rose thorn to "de-gunk"

T-BOP, this photo is straight from the SD card, the only thing I did was crop it down to 1600x. Not sure if that is helpful with what you noted about the "texture" thing. Edit: Originally I left them in Verdi-Care for about 10 minutes, then carefully blotted (not wiped) them dry with a coin cloth. Is that not long enough of a soak? Should I try 30 minutes/an hour/overnight? Would it help if I do an acetone bath for them first to loosen up the crud?

Yes, acetone first, rinse & dry the coin, then verdi care. I have soaked coins overnight in it (only because I forgot) but usually an hour or so per side is good, everybody has there own preference so I guess it's a learning thing.

Quote: I now only need 1922 "No D", 1914-D and 1909-S VDB I'm the same way, except I do have a 1914D in G-06 I picked up under $100 a few years ago off ebay. My whole dansco 1909-present consists of 1909-1929 VF-XF+, and 1930-present all UNC. So far so good, just missing SVDB,14D, 22 no d, and then half a dozen others that need to be upgraded. It's amazing how hard it is to find some coins in VF-XF+ Still on the lookout for a 1912 D, 1923 S, 1926 D, in VF+ and then 1932PD in UNC, and a 1933P in UNC.

1924D gets no respect!

I completely agree, the 1924-D is so rare and so hard to find a decent example.I also feel the 1926-S does not get enough respect either, but still not as tough as the 1924-D.
