@gizmo, I'd love to be able to help you, but I think that the folks here have been pretty consistent with requests for well-lit, cropped, and in-focus pics. Without being able to see the fine details of this piece, we are 100% just guessing here.

One of those pictures looks like a normal quarter with a gold plating, the rest is simply too blurry to even hazard a guess.

It's Definitely not quarter size. And you can tell it's definitely hand struck; I'd say, but I'm no expert.
My father believe it was from his uncle's Bud's collection.
He said he sold off most silver dollars in the 80's.

Sorry @gizmo89, but I disagree. Until we have better pics, I can't tell if it is cast or struck. I do agree that if it is real, then it would have been hand struck.

I'll take rim shot. Has Orange mold growing on & around edge. I'll go get more photos. If fake it's a good one. I'm very familiar with new bullion and industrial.

I don't think this coin is gold, and I so far hadn't seen enough to be sure whether or not it is 380 BC or Alexander.

But it certainly is a disaster.

The only "expert" that has seen it. Said she thinks it's gold & real. The mistrike is bad & matches both sides

It actually looks more black than anything else. Flash makes it really bright

@gizmo, please post some usable pictures. Otherwise, you already have your answer and I'm not sure what anyone here can do for you.
