A little tricky to settle on a grade due to the heavy wear and slightly unusual patina. It might grade from G04 to VG08, but I would guess G06 at best due to net grading -- almost no wing feathers remain on the reverse. A stickler might even say G04. Probably would sell for around $75-$85, but if you really like it because of its originality it wouldn't be a stretch to go to $90 in an auction. Definitely see what else is out there. I suspect that for $100 you could find the same thing with more definition remaining. (Or maybe you are the seller?) I bought a VF20 last year for $149, and while the price was good I have found myself wishing I had held out for a higher grade. Mainly because the worn obverse makes Liberty's face look tired.

Agree with 10. It is rare to find this low grade uncleaned. This isn't a Retone, it's original toning.
If I could accept this grade I'd say $110-$120.
But keep in mind that these progress in price very slowly up to VF-35. If you can afford a little more you well be much happier with a strong VF.
If your purchase limit is $100, then this a solid coin.

VG-10.
I own an 1835 quarter (in my 7070) in about G-4 to VG-8 condition, and I paid $60 for it.
I think that yours is worth about $90 - $120.

I see it there on (150827) Not Allowed - Auto Removed for $85.94. But many more in the $80-$120 price range that do not have the mottled look on the bust and wing feathers. Wouldn't quite call it damage but seems like it would pull the grade down. Of course the 20% buyers premium has to be factored in. So for this relatively common date ebay might supply a better deal from a reputable seller. On the grade I want to defer to the more experienced here, but still not comfortable that it would make VG10 with that reverse.

No I don't think it was that one. . I thought it was OK to mention a link to a coin for sale as long as it isn't your listing, but I stand corrected!

Interesting...I can post a link to a coin for sale on ebay without any problems. Which website were you trying to link to?

Apparently I cannot say, but it rhymes with 'selectors got tom.'

Itseems like a nice original coin to me. Sometimes you get these things and they have hidden scratches and whatnot but, absent those, $90 seems like a fair price to me.

I would grade this one at VG10. There are some really ugly Capped Bust quarters out there in this grade and yours certainly isn't one. Good eye appeal for the grade and I would say $90 on the high end and I feel much better at $75, especially since it has not been graded by a TPG.
