Cheaper, but still not less than one cent. Even if material was somehow free, the cent still costs more than a cent to make.

Quote: I would like to sell this coin. how or who do I contact or talk to. Pleae let me know ASAP. Thank you Send it to PCGS or another third party grading company. After they have authenticated and graded it, contact a major auction company like Heritage Auctions. As far as I know, it is illegal to own a 1974-D Aluminum cent, so if it is real, it would most likely be confiscated. Let us know how it turns out! The coin you have pictured is definitely not a 1974-D Aluminum cent.

I have a round Lucite paperweight ( inherited from my grandfather) with 5 1974 aluminum cents embedded in it. I just KNOW they aren't plated fakes at all, they just must be real, right?
