That 7 is grossly deformed. I think MS64RD would be tops.

MS60RD-Details, Wayyyyy too many hits, both sides high rubs on coat, Not a pleasant eye coin really.
Looked at it again, would be surprised if it got a 60, may just be UNC-Details.

Toooooooooooo many hits on the "O"ne Cent. To get that many hits it had to circulate. Details grade. Not a nice looking coin at all. Technical grade would be BS60 for this coin.

I'm not familiar with this grade/your terminology. Please teach me. I'm hear to learn, unless this was a typo in which case never mind because I'm already good at those.

Possibly 62RD, but that's the highest.

Bad Thad, you hit the nail on the head . . . again. I think my camera phone exploits every flaw and detail, which tends to make the coin look worse and throw off graders.

Quote: I think my camera phone exploits every flaw and detail It's not just you, it's everyone. The high res photos are like a magnifying glass, they show TOO much and tend to emphasize every little flaw which can also be promoted by lighting. It's a good thing we don't buy pictures of coins, we buy coins. They tend more often than not to look much different in hand. There's a reason no professional grader pulls out a 10x magnifier first thing when examining a coin. Almost all the grade comes from eye appeal. Something that's very difficult to convey with pictures.

Here's a good example. Look at the obverse, right field in the top picture and the portrait bust area. In the first picture, the angle and the light make it look pretty ugly. Then, in the second picture, you can really see what the coin looks like in hand. Those "big problems" aren't really there to any major degree.
