weakly struck and overdipped au details. does not look like the coin has any luster. :-(

Wow, that coin looks like it's made of papier-māche. Definitely dipped and a poor job. I have never purchased from GSC. I like their pics compared to most sellers, but that's as far as it goes.

This firm had the most but nearly everyone one of them had been doctored. I imagine they are a great source for buying slabbed coins, but again, on the raw ones, you're better off staying away unless you enjoy headaches.

Well to contradict on my recent post about GSC coins, this coin is not worthy of his listing. At least 3 different issues plague this coin .

I agree their pics often make coins look totally unreal. I see so many obviously dipped coins for sale on ebay. With the lighting or whatever manipulation GSC employs, it is very hard to discern if the coin is indeed dipped...but it does appear to be a flat, generally un-lustrous, surface here. So at this grade (based on the details), if the dipping has destroyed any mint luster, then it isn't worth AU money. GSC are masters at photo manipulation. I have never bought a coin from there and I don't ever intend to. These people are all about volume selling, quantity vs quality. Save yourself some money and aggravation and don't bid on any of their coins cause it is more likely the coin has been doctored to cover up a cleaning or other issue on their coins.

It never ceases to amaze me how this seller gets top dollar for his coins. This coin sold at top certified AU money. A quick search of ebay sold results for 1925 D dime AU brings up at least one recent sale of a 1925 D AU 55 PCGS that sold for $172. It gives sellers on ebay (myself included) a bad name.
