Plating layer seems stripped off somehow, doesn't look like a B/W pic.

Opps! This one is completely stripped & a few other things I found strange..
The groove on rim and the weird thing is it's larger in diameter than a normal cent? as you can see from the photo.
I placed a random penny on top

Texas Cent?
Interesting?-What-Caused-This-To-Happen-To-A-LMC?
Looks like the coin was placed between two pieces of leather, and hit hard with a big hammer. That makes the plating fall off the coin as it is stretched larger than the plating.

Texas Cent sure makes sense

Sometimes, coins found in metal detecting get cleaned in chemicals.

Any bent coin get a whack to make it flat..

Awesome explanation and picture coop:

Zinc Penny Spec

Metal Composition: 97.5% Zinc - 2.5% Copper

Diameter: 19 mm
Mass / Weight: 2.5 grams

Everything is bigger in Texas --

maybe a little thinner.

The picture was Barryusa53. He took the image, I edited it. I like his choice of using the measuring tool to show the differences in sizes.
