Here's a side by side to show the differences:

Business strike coins that year do not have a mint mark from Philadelphia. The missing mint mark is on the proof 'S' mint marks.

Ive got a 87 proof set that I busted open just to compare. Heritage auctions told me to take it to my coin dealer and if it graded they would buy it

I you are talking about the 1990 coin above, it will not grade out at anywhere near what you think it will. I see zinc rot and fingerprints. And just an FYI, don't ever hold a coin that you might think has any real value without gloves. You are adding your fingerprints to those already there.

Keep looking

I just realized the picture showing the obverse is the wrong coin. I had several in a folder.... been looking for one of these for a while. lol. Maybe this one is it...

Business strike, take a look at coop's demo pics. I know your coin is probably quite shiny but it doesn't make it a proof.

I'm not judging it by the mirror side of it... I was going by the edge

Because it was found in circulation, it's not going to be as shiney as a proof coin is supposed to be

Note that on the proof the Rim is flat versus being round on the business strike.

Here is a proof cameo strike that I found CRH. It stood out like a sore thumb and I nearly fell out of my seat when I saw it. However, it is an impaired proof because it has been in circulation and commands no premium.

Still I was able to read print in the mirror finish from some distance away. Your coin is nice, but not a proof.

Keep looking.

Look at the bays on the proof coin. A sure sign it is/was a proof coin.. as well as the mint mark.
