I know it's against the laws of coin collecting but I think I am going to polish this medal.
No. No you are not.

Personally I think it looks spectacular compared to what you started with. Nice job.
I agree. Quit while you are ahead.

Alright, I knew I would get that headslap. LOL
I will try some more patience. I won't polish it.

I went right back out to the sink, put it in one of those plastine coin baggies and put a combination of Verdi Care, Olive Oil and there it sits. I should just hide it for another week.
When I allow the Verdi Care to dry, it looks better than my recent images but has a shiny lacquered look to it.
There is no hint of green that way, but the black splotches are darker.
That pair of images above are showing it rinsed off.
This thread will be dormant for another week on my part.

Well, I am going to continue with this but I couldn't wait a week. Lasted 4 days. I can't help myself. LOL
Here's a before and after up til today. I think another treatment is in order. I can see where some areas really came out good and I haven't ruined it save for some high point loss of surface color. The trade off is worth it.
This is getting close enough to be considered collectible by my standards.

I am going to call it quits at this point. It went into a 2x2 today.
If I go any further, it would go south.
You guys don't know how close I came to getting the Mothers Mag polish and dremel out. LOL

Considering where it was when you started, I think you did a fantastic job.

with that

The end result is worth a 2x2, the start was not.
