This coin just arrived today, and here's a photo. I'm very pleased.
I especially like the flat, almost reflective fields and consistent, mid-brown color.
Here I want to note the color in the photo isn't accurate, and despite what one person on another forum alleges, I see no signs of tampering with this coin.
I also bought two Shillings: a 1924 in VG and a 1928 in aF. I'll post pics of those later.

Peter, LOL...this is as we say here "a keeper"
However, this source may have some other decent pre-decimal silver coin if you need any.
The prices are very good by Aussie standards, I think.

The pics here are better than the other forum Kurt. You can see clearly the contact marks that weren't evident on the other pics. The description of the flat, almost reflective fields, probably set off an alarm bell in Walters head. I believe, though I may be wrong, that Walter is Walter Eigner, owner of CGAU, our equivalent of your PCGS.

And on another note, your coins arrived today. Thank you very much, love that Indian Head cent surprise.

Well, I guess my description and photos lack giving the correct impression--other than my positive reaction to the coin.
Walter Eigner I'm not, but I trust I can tell a cleaned, polished, or otherwise doctored bronze coin. Nothing was given that adequately quantified his reasoning, and I tend to dislike unsupported analysis. That's about all I can put into words here.

On the other hand, I'm very glad you like the coins! I'm also looking forward to your package.

Maybe the GOOD coin dealer in Toowoomba has some USA, I hope so, then I might be able to get a good deal.

Very nice Kurt, Photo's are hard to tell if has been cleaned, though your word on this would be enough for me.
I particularly like the strong rims and beads, near fine no worries, just the lower band showing a little too much ware for Fine.
Anyway, who cares, good score at that price

Updated- Agree with others, Walter is amongst the very best, Dave G I wouldn't rate too far behind if at all.

Mark, thanks--I agree it's hard to tell minute details from photos.
While I generally think I take good photos, some coin details are hard to capture, particularly color.
The best I can tell, the coin is a problem-free aF. Still happy over this one!

Just a little sweetener, Maccas prices:
VG $48: F $140: VF $600: XF $1450: MintaGE 720,000

Some other ha'penny low mintages years to watch out for, 1924, 681,000 - 1930 638,000 - 1931, 369,000. 1939 Roo, 782,000.

1923 is of course the key ha'penny, mintage 1,113,000 - VG $1500.

Nancy, thank you! Based on ANDA guide posted earlier, I'm judging this coin to be aF, problem-free, so I'm very happy!

I've found those too! I guess all that's left is the elusive 1923, lol.

Hehheh, I bet you get one of those too. For $15.

Now where's that coin store you go to again? Us Aussies are planning a raid.

Thanks everyone for cheering me on! There's a great bunch of people here!

It's tucked away in a small mining town where nobody will find it. Here's the list of inventory/prices. (Note: sofar they're slightly overgraded by Aussie standards). If anything interests you (that I haven't bought--or already sold by the dealer), I'll get it for you
