Clearly it's not SILVER. By the weight of it.
But why is it not be accounted for, as a certified error. Honestly it's very uncommon to find any coin in this format. PERIOD. It's an error in 5step printing. Correct me if I'm wrong. Tell me how often do you see this in any coin through out all coins other then this 2005 Kansas quarter. Like the others reported in just this quarter.

What are you talking about? I don't see anything unusual with this Quarter, other than having its reeding worn off.

Probably one of the HSN platinum States quarters series. When they plated them they ruin the value of the coin and sold them to the rubes back in the day.

What is "5 step printing?" Coins aren't printed.

Because it is not an error, it is an altered coin. The TV shopping shows created tens if not hundreds of thousands of sets of gold, silver, and platinum plated State Quarters that the sold for ridiculous amounts of money. When people later tried to sell their "valuable" sets they learned that the coins were only worth face value and either spent them themselves, or went ahead and sold them for face value and the dealers then rolled them up and sent them to the bank releasing them into circulation. People come to the online forums all the time asking about these things.

Once again I really want express how grateful I am for all the support. My I address this findings on an 1988 D Quarter, reverse missing letters, obverse as well as a few areas of interest, I would like to address if this first post is enough to include the rest of this quarter condition.

I want to thank for all of the support, I am excited to see what I can learn from this coin with this support It's a 1988 D quarter that seems to be missing a few letters on reverse, if this post is enough to to take interest on the rest of the concerns that spread to me as errors, It would be a pleasure. Let me start with this section of the quarter

They were prevented to be struck up on the coin because of grease on the die. How can you tell? The devices are tapered at the top of the devices (to allow the coin to come off the die) and when grease prevents the strike, just the lower parts or none of that device can strike up. Yours looks like the devices are enlarged. But that is what happened. Not real collectable until a 80% or higher blockage happens. Then it will look something like this one:

Your Quarter was Struck Through Grease a little bit, causing the devices to be weakly struck.
