I really don't know about the '83. It is either a plating issue or damage. Either way, there's no extra value in it. I believe the '99 was already described correctly.

That 1983 looks familiar, I found one just like a month ago, I put it aside not knowing what it was.

I posted the coins to know what they were, not really for the value and why I asked for the expertise on this forum. The '83 ear is raised metal, curved or hooked and the dot. The only reference I found during research was a type of mad clash.

I know I posted a lot of '83 pix but not a closeup of ear...thanks for indulging me on this... I've looped thousands of coins over many years and it is not anything I've seen before and curious.

Looks like the plating was split. Perhaps something sharp touched that area, making a cut. The zinc gets air and starts to rot. Not a good thing. spendable.
