1983 & 1984 had a lot of clashing issues. The coin may have already been polished a couple of times and another one happened. It was probably retired before the next polishing.

Yep, it was over polished, because they were trying to remove a Die Clash.

The sad part is that it may/may not be from the same die. If the coins had mint marks, then you might be able to match them up.

Yeah I was thinking about that. Here is another one from mine. Coppergold - does yours have the die crack running from the bottom right of the memorial to the rim?

I probably will keep mine because it looks like a nose inside the memorial, its a good oddity to have for fun.
