It looked to me like it didn't quite line up which is why I thought they were die chips.

No problem Bate

Honestly, to me it still does not look right. If it is a die clash then it's reversed. The chin is pointing in the wrong direction. In the overlay picture the chin is pointing to the right of the memorial! And on your coin it appears to be pointing to the left.

Coop, a little help please!

You're very welcome and no problem! I figured you meant rotated. And yes, you said reversed.

Maybe the strike was a little off center or the clash was a little off center. They are def from a clash though. The shapes are identical just a little off. The half circle where the back of his neck is is a dead giveaway. Maybe slightly rotated or just shifted a little west. Pretty nice example though. Nice find!

Thank you John1! Funny that you mention the site as I was just on it about an hour ago. the sight is a big help! It's too bad they aren't accepting any submissions and haven't been for quite some time now. I had asked JC a few months ago if he had any idea when they might start accepting again and he said he had no idea. Bummer.

Possible rotation of the dies, because of the clash. Thus the overlays may not be an exact match. But the clash marks are there.

Thanks coop! I had a problem understanding how the clash appeared to be flipped, at least to me. (like a picture negative). But I think I got it now.
