I want to say 55 but it may have gotten 53.

I could live with 53, a beautiful example.

Obverse is a bit flat but reverse is much sharper, usual weird Bust Half strike issues, my grade AU50.

This one is xf-45 and wholly original. I snatched it up. Not sure how you guys came up with a cleaned details designation.

It's re-toned enough to be market acceptable in my opinion. From what I can tell it has been cleaned many years ago, but has re-toned. A fantastic example nonetheless. Congrats on your purchase.

I would have thought cleaned and retoned also based on pics, especially the obverse. It just seems a bit bright and looks like it might have some hairlines. Oh and halos around the stars, let's not forget the halos!

Oh and halos around the stars, let's not forget the halos! On the obverse what you are seeing is traces of luster hugging the edges of devices and on some of the stars. In some areas the luster has toned gold with splashes of other colors. The portrait has a layer of gun metal grey patina with splashes of gold luster in some of the crevices. The reverse had a rougher go of it. Probably facing down against paper in an album. Golden luster is more muted on this side but is noticeable in the crevices of the eagle, especially the eagle's lower half.

Quote: This one is xf-45 and wholly original While it very likely looks better than those awful pictures as usual from them, wholly original it is not unless those pictures aren't close to accurate. I have no problem with the grade and it is certainly acceptable, but those pictures don't depict a wholly original coin. I'm certainly willing to believe those pictures aren't accurate, but if they are a dark dirty side doesn't mean something is wholly original
