MS-63, but possibly details if that's a spot of corrosion on the reverse.

Hmmmm - perhaps some education on this particular series is due ... Quote:
MS63 due to scratches on face The entire BTW series 1946 - 1951 was struck with the same general obverse die design - where the point of highest relief and least likely to be fully struck up is the obverse portrait lower jaw area. The scatter marks seen on this otherwise lovely example at the jaw area are remnants of the original silver planchet used to mint the coin ... and not post mint contacts. It is a truly dedicated collector who can find one of the BTW in high MS without these jaw area chatter. I politely suggest that if the PCGS wizards know their stuff on this series - this is an MS65 coin indeed - the minor reverse toning not detracting from that grade. Agree with the planchet abrasion cheek vs post strike impairments as those appear on the chin ; reverse die particularly looks clashed and effaced ; interesting.

Thanks for the info nickelsearcher. I did look through PCGS & NGC MS65 BTW and most have the marks, although this one seems little below par. Let see what the the guys at TGP gave it....  |
