Another one? I hate going first! AU to MS something. Improperly cleaned. I see (I think I see) fine/hairline scratches in the Obv. and Rev. fields. Edit: Okay, second. basebal21- I think two_tonevf35 is trying to trick us with his lighting/pictures. We're on to him! Hi two_tonevf35.

It looks au55 to me but the lighting isn't doing the coin any favors. Also the band on liberty and the top feather on the eagle are difficult to discern. This is a coin where I wouldn't trust the grade on the slab unless I could see those areas clearly.

if you own this piece take photos in natural light. based on these pics I'm seeing a cleaned coin in the high AU range

Agree, no way to accurately grade from these images only speculate and that's iffy...

Some like their VF and XF coins tarnish free - except for some spots here and there. Just the way you'd expect a 125 year old (circulated) silver coin to look. Better pics next time!

I knew that. Straight grade XF45! And that's why I'm not a grader!

To be honest, I still don't like it. The obverse still looks unnatural and cleaned, even in this TPG holder.

Pictures have too bright lighting, which exaggerate the surface color. Couldn't tell if it was EF, AU, or MS from that pic.
I will totally agree it's been cleaned, however.

Only posting circ cameos started to seem a bit boring, and made me forget how many thousands of Barber halves I had to look at it to find just one of those. One can complete a set in PCGS XF with coins like this in about 2 weeks or less if you have enough money. If this is what you like (totally subjective), it's not a dig. PCGS holders harshly cleaned and unnatural looking VF-XF coins all day long.
