If I could figure out how to post, I'd tell you thanks for clearing that up, I was confused what "weak D" meant. Looked closer, still don't see it. Oh wait, I guess I do know how to post. Sorry I'm so dumb sometimes.

Really? Then why did you bother to post SIX different closeups of the mint mark area?

Fyi, the first one on ebay in a holder I looked at I see it no problem in a much smaller image.

There are a wide variety of weak D's. Some you can see others are imagined. Now that you mentioned it, I posted other post to let you get a better look see. While we're at it, can you tell me for sure if it is a weak D? Oh & a Grade quess would be nice also. Just need some opinions before it's off to PCGS. Thank you.

Ok let me give it a shot again....

On the genuine coin the weak D is located in the field area in front of the eagle's clasped arrows and below the laural branch.

The weak D is very fat and very flat but visible on genuine coins.

I see neither characteristic on your coin.

I suggest you look at the current slabbed 11-D weak D's on ebay (or on Heritage.com) and evaluate your coin again.

As far as a grade goes your coin appears to be in circulated extra fine condition.

If you still believe your coin is an 11-D weak D variety I suggest you send it to ANACS for a reasonably priced authentication. If it comes back the "real deal" you can then get it crossed oven in to a fancy NGC or PCGS slab.

End of story as far as I'm concerned. Good luck!

Pics aren't the best, but I'd say AU-55.

I know nothing about this series but I have to ask if the weak D is from a single die pairing and if so are there any other die markers to confirm this is legitimate?
