Why the reeded rim. No loonie has a reeded rim.
Loonies aren't round they are 11 sided coins.

Quote: Many loonie collectors probably just dropped out of any hopes of completing their collection Most loonie collectors don't consider these expensive gimmick 5oz, 10oz, gold etc. part of the regular loonie collection. For example, how many collectors got these $5500 gold loonies? https://www.colonialacres.com/product-p/156041.htm

The idea, with the 10oz could be good, if the RCM would issue in the parallel, the "normal" Piedfort Silver Loonie (same dimensions as original, but double-thick). The very reach collectors will be happy to get the ultra- limited release, and average Loonie collectors will be happy to get the Piedfort coin.

I can't imagine spending that much for 10 ounces of silver. The original price of $3,000.00 was outrageous yet it sold out. $300/ounce. Insane.

Something is weird about this coin: Since when the RCM reduce the price of these coins? Actually did someone of you had the opportunity to buy it directly at the RCM : When and at which price? Could it be a gift for some VVIP, like with the 50c 2000P ?

Quote: I think quite a few hopes were also dashed with this set from last year! $5,499.95 CAD! Yup- that is when I ended my loon collection... I have every one up to that gold issue

Well after almost a year watching the secondary markets I finally managed to get ahold of this Loon! It is definitely not a coin but it is a beautiful piece of art.

Quote: Super tough to get the concave effect in the pictures. I can see the effect in your first image - you captured it well. That's one thick coin!
