It's not your PM's having the problem, it's Crazyb0.

Thanks for the insight Captain Obvious...

What jbuck was trying to say is that the underlying code that supports this site, and the messaging system, is working fine. There are no user-specific code subroutines here... (but hey, not a bad idea...)

Enjoy your vacation... you picked the wrong person to get snarky with... (oh yeah, and never call a geologist an engineer...)

Not to start a debate or an argument but if that is what jbuck meant then perhaps that's how he should have presented it. Like USSID18, I thought he misunderstood that only Crazyb0 wasn't getting PM's.

Not to mention I find your response a little insensitive and harsh!

So, I understand that Crazyb0 not receiving PMs very well may be an issue on his end -- email provider in some way. Conversely, since PMs originate here, one coming from him to another member who has no problems receiving them, should receive it. Right?

Have you attempted to PM me, Crazyb0? I have not noticed a problem receiving them from other members, so it may help figure something out.

I read it all again, and I understand that only Crazyb0 has had problems receiving PMs by what was said. Are there others?

Then explain the smiley he used in his reply to jbuck...

(Note that we debated a long time whether or not to actually use that smiley here, because it has a time and a place where it is used properly.)

I CANNOT SEND OR RECEIVE PMS!

If I had say a block on for a site, I WOULD NOT receive subscription notifications since they are same origination. This is selective and only affecting PMs.

I get what SPP is saying, no sub-routines to specifically select one function to one member so the forum can't disable it on the server selectively. So it has to be my end, but where? No blocked or restricted sites, no cookies left.

I flagged this thread for Bobby to have a look when he gets a chance... not much else we can do at this point but just be patient... only him or Rui dare look under the hood here...

For what it is worth, I have never thought that emoji was needed or appropriate.

Personally I see it as a playful gesture! As numerous members as well as the moderators have used it. it appears to be acceptable for moderators to use it on members and members to use it on other members, but not acceptable for a member to use it on a moderator? That would seem a bit bias to me!

SPP, Yea, I know its heavy code if this is where the deal is, I'm trying to figure out which end it is. I had a guy wanting to buy stuff, and a want-ad up on CCF that I haven't heard anything in response... that is my issue, and you explanation of sub-routine is sufficient, I get it. Thanks If you can think of some other area for me to check I would appreciate it.

If jbuck could not figure it out... then I am of no help. Bobby can probably figure this out - but do bear in mind that it is weekend... (the only reason I am here is that I am up watching the Flames-Canuck hockey game - tied 4-4 in the third period!!).

I am going to lock this thread now (now that is flagged for follow-up)... I really don't want this thread turning into something to detract from the main issue.
