I live in Houston. I've found a few Canadian nickels and cents while roll hunting. For some reason I find more nickels than pennies. On average I'll find 2 nickels per box and 1 cent every other box.

HOWEVER... Just today I pulled a 1947 cent from a roll. Thought that was pretty neat.

I've got a couple of your 2 dollar coins in half rolls. One was even a 'freebie'; not counted as a half. Also quite a few pennies, the earliest being 1940, and a few nickels and quarters as well. Its always cool to see something different pop out.

Not to many trickle down to south Texas (maybe a cent or dime), but I hang on to them anyway(I'm a hoarder).
On a different note, is there the equivalent of the wheat back in Canada ,and the peeps that go nuts over them?

I don't think there is an equivalent to the wheaties here. I prefer to try and catch anything pre-queen elizabeth but it's not the same (at least not to me)

I seem to find a Canadian Penny every two or three rolls here in NYC. Nickels come maybe every ten rolls, and ive only every found 3 or 4 dimes and maybe a half dozen loonies. found my only quarter early this week actually.

Never found a King George - had to trade for those

That's weird. I would think that in NYC it would be easy to get all kinds of canadian money.

I live in Michigan and Canadian coins used to circulate quite a bit around here when I was a kid. (30-40 years ago!) The merchants and we customers gladly took and gave Canadian coins as change and it was always accepted at equal value.
Today, a newer generation of merchants & customers don't follow the old tradition. Too many things are sold from vending machines, and the Canadian coins don't work in our machines, so nobody really wants them anymore. I always thought it was kind of neat to freely use Canadian change in commerce.

Until recently I used to get them in change all the time. Lately I haven't seen a Canadian coin for years now. Not sure why but I've heard many are now magnetic and many of our vending machines jam or reject them so their popularity is vanishing. May not be the reason but I just don't see them anymore at all.

I live in Detroit, Michigan and I live about 15 minutes away from the border, so Canadian coinage pops up ALL THE TIME. I would not be lying when I say that I get two canadian pennies out of circulation each and every day.
