So who is going to certify CAC coins ? First grading services, then these stickers, what next ? No wonder I'm losing interest in my lifelong hobby.

There are not a whole lotta coins in this thread; I still wonder how high of a grade an AU58 Gold CAC is ?  |

Gold is basically this coin is undergraded and we would sticker it at a higher grade. No one knows for sure how under graded and AU 58s are probably more like 63/64ish but a simple low end upgrade is not enough to get gold CAC |

Ah, thank you!
So if ever you received a CAC gold... why wouldn't you re-submit for grading? I realize it's entirely a gamble, but for rare coins, 1 grading point can mean hundreds+ of dollars.

Yeah, having another level on top of the green stickers is completely unnecessary to me and creates a problem. Okay, so green means strong for its grade. Gold can only mean it actually grades higher than it did and may actually be strong for that higher grade. So is the TPG correct or CAC? Is CAC applying an eye appeal standard with several levels within a single grade? Where do "+" grades fall in comparison to green and gold? What would an MS-67+ Gold CAC look like and what should it actually grade without the marketing? That hypothetical then leads to the fictional slab labeling mentioned that Earle42 created. There's no end. By creating levels of acceptance, CAC has become a TPG in itself. The 70-point scale seems to be completely inadequate. In Memory of Crazyb0 12-26-1951 to 7-27-2020

It's a scale of 1-58+, that has a scale of 60-70 sitting on top of it. The whole hard line of friction limiting something to a 58+ is dissapearing and that if there is no friction it has to be a 60 or better is also fading, but many still hold onto that idea. It should have always been a continuous scale instead of two separate ones combined into one. Quote:

They do consider the designations in what they sticker, but I cannot give you firm information on whether or not golds have ever been used to affirm a higher designation alone. Edited by basebal21

Take this lower end pop report for the 1794 Flowing Hair $1:  Grades can only be given in five-point increments? Compare that to the upper end of the PCGS population:  Now we get picky all of a sudden. I understand that these grades mean more money, but what I am saying disregards the money and I wonder whether a fair (and precise) grading mechanism actually exists across all grades.
