Open them. The paper rolls themselves are of little value although if you are careful you can probably re-roll them using the same wrappers after you have looked through them.

ok, I'm back (at last) the first roll was all copper, mainly wheats, the second roll was all steelies, I have two rolls to go, the latest date was 1978.

Looks like several of the 1943s are in spectacular shape. Try not to put your finger prints all over them or wipe them with anything. They survived. Put those in a holder for safe keeping / handling.

All of my 1943s have surface corrosion all over them.

thanks for the heads-up, I'm trying to only touch the edge of the rims, I don't really know enough about errors and such so I may put them back in the rolls except for the 3 or 4 really nice ones, what do you think?
