I do not CRH now, but when I did it was exclusively CWR. I dated a teller at the time and we made a good team.

Up in Canada here about 95% of all the Machine wrapped rolls have been put through the largest Roll hunting agency in the world, the Canadian government. These have all been processed and anything non-magnetic drops out, so no silver and no USA coinage.

I pass on these all the time.

The last few years I'd make the rounds and buy up at least 2 grand in dimes in one shot. Nothing better for the chance of solid silver than CWR rolls. Same with halves.

Machine wrapping does not, and cannot be tempted to search for scarce or rare coins.

There remains the possibility that customer wrapped coins MAY have been searched by a CRH'er.
Maybe even yourself in a roll recycle.

CRH rule #2. Always buy them all.

I scored my biggest score ever with CWR. 11 Rolls of silver quarters, 15 rolls of silver dimes, and a roll of 40%.
Rest in Peace

I like CWR especially during the month of December , lots of people cashing in all their change to buy Christmas gifts . On the other hand you can find some decent Lincolns and IHC from BWR's of Cents .

When I walk into a bank & they tell me that A customer brought in 300 rolls of halves earlier that day, & she shows me rolls that are marked with 4 dots, I don't waste my time. I've looked at enough of these rolls to know that he pulls out the same stuff I do (silver, proofs & all NIFC). If you want to waste your time searching every roll...knock yourself out. Then you also have to deal with dumping the same 300 rolls. I have found a few 40% that were missed by others edge searching because they looked very similar to the c/n clad. But never in the rolls marked with the 4 dots. If you have the time, & can easily (and cost effectively) unload the rolls you don't want...then go for it.

My best solid silver rolls were found that way. Old timers still toss the 40% halves. Not only that, just buy 'em and dump out of your district. Your tellers will love you.

As previously stated, I have NEVER found any silver, proofs or NIFC in any of the rolls marked with 4 dots (In 5 years of searching this area). I have better things to do with my time than move $3000.00 worth of halves from one bank to another with zero chance of financial gain. But hey, if you're not working 55-60 hours a week & feel like searching around here I'll even hook you up with the bank whose vault teller searches all half dollar rolls BEFORE they leave the vault (and draws a little flower on the wrappers).

I think it's a hit-and-miss on anything, but I prefer cwr when looking for older coins as many were people unloading their change jar. When looking for newer dates, i.e. parks quarters, I like bank wrapped as I usually find mostly newer dates in them.
