Would have said AU50. Actually, I'll still say it. That's an AU50 coin based on the images.

At some point I may consider have it cross-over at ICCS.... I Usually use one of our fellow members here who has created an incredible reference site for us to look at and compare. - Saskatoon coin club - thats my go to guide aside from coins and canada and my personal collection with similar grades... I will say; Photos may look AU and this coin can be... -under the loupe moustache & beird show wear above ear and below crown does show light wear reverse on some leaves indicates some light wear I am also confused...the loupe shows great detail in a lot of higher points....crown band look great, I think it would cross grade AU50 as well....

Well that looks more like EF-40 (or even VF-30).
Once again, another example of how lighting and photography can drastically alter the appearance of a coin...

Hey Johnny,
The first set of photos were taken on a very natural sunny day on a window ledge (Iphone)
The last photo was taken in a dark space with photo flashlight on (iphone)
So, in reality the first set of photos are more of a clear indication on the actual coin and what details you see there are the actual details of this coin. .
Personally I thought CCCS has graded this properly at EF40 maybe it could have been EF45 and a long shot at an expert opinion for AU50.
The details shown on the first set of photos are the actual details in the coin. Iphone 8 is not intented to show clear details within an encapsulated slab.
I may at some point sent it over at ICCS just for the heck of it. According to the grading standards this coin does have all of the criteria for EF.
If you feel that photography and lightning alters the appearance of the coin than you should also feel the last photo is also playing tricks with your mind:)

This was 100% accurately graded. Your first set of pictures really washed out the coin and hid alot of imperfections, with a series that is often weakly struck that can make it extra hard to grade from a picture. Just a few reasons why it's EF: The top of the ear is not sharp, the hair above that is gone, shoulder bow has lots of wear, beard is worn alot.
johnnysprawl is right to say lighting completely changed this and as well as accurate of the EF-40(if not a nice VF-30).
Im sure you could cross this to NGC or PCGS for an AU but whats the point in that.

I totally agree with both of you guys. I also believe believe the grade is accurate at EF40.
Regardless, the lightning does influence the appearance. - Clear indication of my last Iphone photo -

First photo set made it look like it had a LOT more lustre than it actually does.
Based on the new pics, EF40 may have even been slightly generous. ICCS calls that a VF30 most days.
