I think I would need a better pic. Conservatively AU55. Very hard to tell with this. It could well be a lot better. As far as genuine. I"m not an expert on this series so I can't say.

That's how I read it as well, but these pics aren't the best.

corroded planchet. very common for this series. not a bad strike. AU details. I think the lighting on the first set of photos did not show what the actual coin looks like in hand.

I am at XF Details - while there is some strike weakness, I feel there is a little more wear than AU. Very nice inheritance - enjoy!

Thanks everyone for looking and your time. Sorry I know the pic's are not the best. So frustrating! I have a good magnifier ect on the way for better picture taking. The coin really doesn't look corroded to me in person but then I am no expert. Yes it is dark. I have it in a sealed case just took it out for pictures. Should I store the coin differently? Also can some cleaning be done ? Or does that take away from the coin? I myself have had coins put up for years but never anything that old. There are other old coins that belonged to my father I'm wondering how I should be storing them. Last question, does anyone think this coin is worth getting graded ?
Many thanks again !

Forgot about the rim ? Around 1-2 o'clock is that maybe corrosion you were talking about? Just a newbie here!

Corrosion looks to be on most of the coin. Do you see small pits in the surface of the coin under a loupe ?

Yep,there are looking through a loop. That being said is it still worth anything & should I keep in the sealed plastic case?
