Thanks all! I have a really good idea of what I'll be doing with this one. A friend of mine recently started collecting in to help kick off his collection you started coin roll hunting penny and nickel boxes so I'm going to give him a roll of early Jeffersons, a roll of wheat cents, and now I can give him a 2000 w a m to go with it

Nice find. Nicer "contest". Super final destination. I like the "put it in a roll" idea.

Jim: If you are going to try acetone on this coin. I would like before and after images. I feel it will make no difference and your images would prove this. A stain doesn't go away as far as I know.

Those stain are permanent and Acetone wont make a dent! if anything, I would try Verdi care.

Make it a two step process. Before image, Acetone image and then Verdi care with images. (I'm thinking nothing will change on all three images) Be a good side by side by side test.

Well if anyone has a stained coin and acetone and Verdi Care. You can take the three images to show the results. Before - acetone image - Verdi care image. It doesn't have to be a variety coin. Just one that is stained to see if anything affects them or not?

I looked at Verdi care ads, and ironically they don't show photos. The description sounds more like a coating to the coin than a cleaner. I haven't experienced Acetone removing any thing that has effected the surface of the coin. If it's an organic coating of some sort Acetone should remove it, but nothing else. Just my experience. Verdi Care is like #35.00 for an ounce ? For that price I would like to see some photos.
