Thank you levelsofmadnes! It seems like the 2015 LSC Doubled Dies are very hot in my area. I find a lot of them in my area.

Thank you DrDon! The EPU is probably the easiest pick up point for these.

Nice find. I found a 2011 DDR 001 last week (no pics),I think that makes three of them that I have found. John1

On a 2013 DDR you can see it better when you look closer:

So coop, then for my knowledge why is it that EPU doubled dies show doubling in the form of total device reduction, while all others show device enlargement.

GrapeCollects, well, you'll have to remember that the EPU on the LSC's are incuse, so instead of normally increasing the size, it gets reduced. If the EPU is enlarged, then it is Machine Doubling.

That's for the clarification E&V, I don't know much about the LCS series, so I appreciate the additional info.

The difference is the devices themselves. On raised devices a doubled die shows enlargement and Machine Doubling is reducing devices. On incuse devices the doubled dies are reduced in size and Machine Doubling is enlarged in size. Raised devices on coins are made by making the devices incuse on the dies. A doubled die is made on the die, enlarging the devices. Machine Doubling is cause by movement of the die after the strike. So even a doubled die can suffer with Machine Doubling. (doubled die on the die, Machine Doubling caused by the strike) Incuse devices are raised on the die and struck incuse on the coin. So the Machine Doubling moves and enlarges the devices on Machine Doubling cause before or after the striking. Here is a side by side of each on incuse devices: So just remember, On raised devices: A doubled die enlarges the raised devices. MD reduces the devices. The opposite is true for incuse devices. So how did I figure this out? On a 2013 DDR. The incuse devices that were reduced in the fist set of three images, shows as enlarged devices on the raised devices: CoopHome: raised and incuse devices.
