Yes, it appears to be a fair VF20 to me. The design is intact & back shows nice colour.
It has issues (soiling/edge nicks) that aren't noted on the back of the TPG holder (which would typically be listed today on PMG & on a BCS holder).

Nice note!. It is on my list of note to buy as well. I think notes from this series will always be desirable especially the french versions. If you stay close to BV, your investment should be safe. The only thing I can suggest is to pay less than BV of VF20 on this note because it is missing the EPQ grade which any collector or investor will be looking for when buying a note.

Paper money is particularly difficult to evaluate from photos, but overall, I'd say this is graded correctly.

BTW, is this Sergio Momesso the ex HAB? Know broadcaster for the HABS?

I have been following prices of this series for almost two years now.

I have only seen one french $20 in VF25 which sold in may 2018 for $3960.00 before tax. Hope this helps.

Something else to consider regarding the grading of the banknote is the difference between US and Canadian grading companies. PMG and PCGS are more liberal in their grading than Canadian BCS which is more conservative or more strict.

In this case, I believe BCS would grade it as Fine 15.

Ok Sergio, I was asking because my family comes from the same part of Montreal as the Momesso family. Good Luck and enjoy the purchase.

BCS maybe stricture grader then PMG or PCGS, but I know a lot of collectors that won't touch anything but PMG and PCGS. Which means to me, that until that stigma is lifted. I will continue to think investing in a PMG or PCGS certificate holds your investments liquidity value.

yeah, BCS is very reliable, PMG might be little wrong sometime but as we say, buy the NOTE not the holder :D

"VF" is a broad range for the grading companies, perhaps too broad, but that's how it is. I think VF-20 is correct.

If you want the best banknote for your collection, get a BCS graded noted. If you want to sell banknotes for a profit, get a PMG or PCGS graded one.

For example, if both a PMG and BCS has the same grade, the BCS note will be a much nicer note since it graded more strictly.

A BCS note will always be graded several points below a PMB/PCGS graded one. A PMG graded note at UNC 65 is equivalent to a BCS UNC 60. So, buying a BSC is a good deal because you are paying less for basically the same note.

Some people cut out BCS graded notes and submit to PMG/PCGS for a higher grade.
