Not actually called a mad clash. It is called a MAD strike. The hammer die is adjustable and the anvil die is fixed. The adjustable die needs to be lined up over the anvil die or it will create a MAD strike:  Always good to see to understand it better. This one is a collectable. Note the devices falling over the edge and the weakness of the reverse devices where the coin didn't receive an even press during the strike. I was looking for that on your coin, but it wasn't far enough out of alignment to cause the weakness on the reverse. |

Once you get it out of the holder take a closeup pic of the FG at the bottom right of the memorial.

Looks like a Partial Collar error to me. Pretty neat find.  Errers and Varietys.

Do you know the way you can tell if it is a partial collar? The area not contained by the collar, will widen out larger than the collar. Note the images I posted above. Look at the cent? You can see where the metal is pushed way out. The Silver dollar? Note the reeds? That was in the collar, the area that is hanging over the reeds is where is was not in the collar. I can see a small amount on your coin. So it is a minor partial collar. (unless other areas are showing a wider rim edge?) These will not be even as a partial collar is usually partly tipped a bit, and not in the collar.

Coop I'm deffinatly picking up on the knowledge your putting out..ive posted abit these past few days and u seem to really know your coins..i do see a minor partial collar on my coin..would be nice to find a better example for this error though...i imagine partial collars are hard to come by these days because of coin machines and bank wrapping..kind of like the broad strike which I might have to buy one becus its so hard to catch one in a bankwrap with the size difference..thanx alot though..its always cool hearing what u have to say and you explain it perfectly for me to understand..ive learned a few things from you already

But if the hammer die is far enough out of alignment that it is hitting the collar, it can push the collar down creating the partial collar effect.
As to whether or not this coin has value, it might. Normally a MAD does not have premium value unless the die is far enough off that part of the design in missing. On this coin it looks like the front point of the bust may be off the coin. That area is dark in the original picture and I can't be sure.

I beleave your correct about the bust being slightly off this coin
I will get a better pic posted soon..thanx for barring with my horrible photography..i apologize and am trying to get complete clear pics of both side of coins and there defects

Yup? Last pic shows it perfectly.. die that struck my coin seems to have been slightly tilted..matches up perfectly when seen that way..my coin is slimmer on the date side and fatter on the liberty side..slimmer side shows.. the partial collar..fatter side shows.. the misalignment..
Awesome photos coop..killed it..total breakdown of this coin..

Actually your coin was not from a tilted die issue. But more of a didn't fully get into the collar issue. Kind of a squeeze to fit event during the strike.
If you take more images, get wider shots of the edge of the coin in quarter turns. That way you an see how wide the partial collar is. If you have a wooden clothes pin, or a bag clip. You can clip it onto the edge of coin and be able to take vertical shots.

The image is a little to grainy. of the edge. Try back just a bit to show the full circumference of the coin. That way we can see it better and the camera can focus better. Even include a bit beyond on both sides of the image. I can adjust the image for editing.
