GreasyFingers, I thought I was haha but I can't, I enjoy it, especially when I find something. I was drunk and upset that night that no one besides EV chipped in.

Thanks! :)

I'm working on it. I'm just a "young buck" haha. And I certainly agree with you...

I'm thankful to people on here that have helped me learn up to this point. I can finally differentiate between doubled die and Machine Doubling most of the time.

Cheers :)

Brand new to this. What on this picture indicated that it was DDO? Was it the thickness of the 9? It the R in liberty?

Newbie6 Liberty exhibits extra thickness, noticeable on "Y" in Liberty. On shield cents I look at the date and Liberty and go from there. Best of luck

Curveball, there's a 2019 DDO that's worth 80$? That's quite a lot for a new penny. I haven't done much research on 2019 DD's. I just try to find them and share with the forum

That's cool. I'm not trying to sell my finds just yet, only if I find duplicates. I originally started this hobby for well known EXPENSIVE varieties but got sucked into the hobby haha. Just trying to learn everyday and contribute to this forum

@rookie2018 same here I was give a small collection a few months ago and read up on dates then been hoarding rolls for about 8 months from banks I'm just checking them and starting to play around now. The doubling on the shelids is different than older pennies. It's almost more like Machine Doubling on the shields its different I think it throws old die hard hunters off. I have trouble with LMC the shields I can spot a mile away lol I dont think I'll will ever see a shelid like the 55 or 72 or 83 those days are gone wish I was around collecting in those days bet it was fun. I'm only 34 we just get boring shields from now on. Who knows they just found a double ear on a 2018 d I guess u never know what will come

Curveball, I certainly agree. Shield doubled dies are a lot different from class one doubles dies. I prefer older doubled dies with nice spread, but shields are fun if you find drastic doubling on them.
