All I see for a mint mark is a face with 2 eyes , one ear , a nose and a cigar hanging out of it's mouth .
Some kind of reverse doubling going on or just shadows from light source .

Something's funny with the mintmark. I agree, cleaned. Can't give it MS.

so what's the "tell" on cleaning here. I don't see any hairlines, so are you basing this just on muted luster?

Photos a bit grainy, and lighting is over powering the detail.

Not sure I can tell about cleaning, looks more like a San Francisco Mint.

It has the dull look seen on coins cleaned with Baking Soda and water. Shinny but lifeless, no mint frost or chartwheel.
