David,
Are you descended from the Frohmans of Sandusky, Ohio?

Thank you for sharing your prototype~ prototype! I know I'm grateful to have seen/read about your amazing artifact here~ I try to learn something new everyday and I do believe I'm good for a week now after reading and seeing your information on here! I'm looking forward to seeing the new Ike. I also want to acknowledge that you made me laugh when you wrote~ "I feel like starting my post over with "A guy walks into a bar with an 1804 dollar ...". Thank you again! Linda

Thank you for your kind comments, Linda, and it is my pleasure! Indeed, let me show everyone my new images of the prototype in its new PCGS "Rarities" holder. The prototype is difficult to photograph given its semi-prooflike surfaces, and it appears a bit darker in this photograph then in person. Also, the image was created for me by Brian Lovelace ("Darth"), who did a superb job! So, without further ado here are the images! All the best, David Frohman

We were using the PCGS "Trueview" image of the prototype, which is too dark. In person, it is the most beautiful and pristine silver-white color with flawless surfaces. At some point, I will need to get the coin re-photographed in order to really give a correct impression. However, this is a somewhat good "official" start!

Actually, this is one of the three earliest-known silver dollars ever struck after the final Peace dollar in 1935. This prototype was then followed by 728,000,000 or so circulation strikes over the years.

Wow prototype~ I read the article and I'm speechless! I enjoyed reading all about the amazing journey the 3 Ike's have had plus everything you have had to go through to have them certified. {your link you posted didn't work, I found a link further in the post}
I believe Gasparro's coins are finally home and with the right person~ What a great story you get to tell about him and your amazing Ike.
I'm also really happy for your friend Chuck, I enjoyed reading about how he bought his Ike at a pawn shop~ and walked away with a treasure! Hearing great stories about one of our veterans is very heartwarming. {I might have to stop at a couple pawn shops}
The new pictures look amazing~ Great images Darth!
